My host dad in Ghana wants to send me money. I don't know him, nor do I trust him. What is the safest way?

He wants to send me money so I can buy him a laptop then go to Ghana and give it to him. What is the safest way that he can send me money. Note: I don't know him well but I'm staying with him for a month because I'm going to do volunteer work.
