What is a good gun for a beginner paintballer?

I've gone paintballing 4 or 5 times at the local paintball fields, but I always just rent a gun there. What is a decent, yet not outrageously priced gun for beginners? I was thinking Tippmann 98 Custom? maybe in the $100-$200 range?
