I am moving my whole family to ghana and i would like any type of info about this country.?

we are a family of 5 ( 3 kids under 8 my husband and myself) would $3000 be enough to last there for a few months? how many months? i don't care if we have little 2 bedroom apartment/ house/ flat? i think we might go to accra. what type of work is there for an american if any? are there orphanages there that i can work at or volunteer at without fees to volunteer? thanks
