Will this stop the water roaches?

We moved into a rental house in Feburary, the past few weeks we've been seeing these flying roaches quite often. We have a leak in the pipes we noticed since our water bill has been outrageously high and because the water company sent out a guy and told us the meter shouldn't be moving if nothing is running inside the house. We have a plumber coming tomorrow to find out the leak source. I was just wondering could this leak be the reason for the flying roaches or giant water bugs. Should I expect to see anymore as the foundation and leak dry up. We do have puddles in the back yard and the grass seems quite heathly where it seems to be leaking.
