Need help understanding ghanaian culture?

i'm from the uk and my boyfriend is from ghana. we've been together for just over a year and we had a wonderful relationship, however its getting progressively worse as we don't seem to be able to understand each other's cultures and he doesn't seem to get the fact that I will be able to understand and act accordingly with his culture without having to 'force myself', if only he told me a bit more about it. He used to talk openly about the future eg. marrying me which is what I really want, however recently he has expressed to me that he is unsure about a future with me now due to this culture thing and it might be easier for him to marry a ghanaian woman instead. I don't think he knows how to explain his culture to me, and I really don't want to lose him - so what I'm asking here is please anyone who knows anything about ghanaian men, women, relationships etc - and big differences between england/ghana which might make an impact - please tell me! I just want to act in a way which he will understand to convince him that it will be ok to have a future with me.
